Lacoste Aventura Mall
Adventure Challenge
This adventure challenge is designed to bring your Lacoste squad closer together and get you to explore the surrounding area while staying safe and healthy. Please follow the current CDC guidelines and your local authorities for the best ways to protect yourselves and those in your community.
Here Are The Rules
Read each challenge carefully and click on any provided links to view helpful pictures, videos, and requirements for each challenge.
Complete as many challenges as you can in the given time frame. Challenges can be completed in any order. Challenges are often designed to bring you together through fun, difficult, or embarrassing experiences, so complete whatever challenges you and your group are comfortable with. Just be sure to create some unforgettable moments and content that your group will cherish forever!
Some challenges may require a few basic supplies to complete them. Figuring out how to obtain these supplies somewhere in the area is part of the strategy so work together and use what you’ve got to get what you need.
Team members need to stay together throughout the adventure, however, if you are all at the same location and searching for an item you can spread out until it is found and then regroup to take the necessary picture/video.
Capture as many team members in your picture or video as possible. When out in the community, teams often ask a kind stranger to take their picture or video so that the entire team can get on film. If it's necessary to have someone on your own team film certain challenges be sure to rotate who that person is so that everyone is actively involved in completing challenges throughout the adventure.
#1: The Lacoste brand was built upon, and still leans heavily on, it’s tennis roots. To honor this, get your team to the table tennis area on the patio outside the food court. Once there, take a video of your team members volleying a ball back and forth across the net so that each team member gets at least one hit over the net to someone else without the ball falling off the table or going into the net. For clarity, if you have 5 team members you should make at least 5 successful uninterrupted hits (back and forth without stops) over the net. If you have more team members then available paddles you’ll need to be strategic in how you quickly pass off the paddle to a waiting team member so that the volley isn’t stopped at any point.
#2: The Aventura Mall is the largest shopping mall in the state of Florida, and one of the largest in the entire country. Somewhere in this massive mall find someone carrying a Lacoste shopping bag. This person should not be in the actual Lacoste store or directly outside of it. Once you’ve found them, take a video of your team asking them a market research type question such as “what was the top reason they decided to buy something at Lacoste as opposed to one of the other competitors”. Or have them show you on video what they purchased and ask them “what is it specifically about this product that made them want to buy it.” Feel free to come up with a question that best helps you understand them as a Lacoste consumer and then thank them for helping your team in the scavenger hunt.
#3: This week is Cinco De Mayo, which commemorates the victory of a smaller, poorly equipped Mexican force against the larger and better-armed French army. To honor their strength, take a video of at least half of your team members all consuming separate spoonfuls of any brand of hot sauce. So if your team has 5 members at least 3 of them will need to each consume a spoonful of hot sauce. Make sure to show the bottle or packet of hot sauce in the video so everyone knows it's actually hot sauce you're consuming.
#4: With a mall this size it’s important for shoppers to know where the nearest fire extinguishers are. So take a video of your team completing "Stop, Drop, and Roll" while any regulation/operable fire extinguisher is visible in the background. Be sure to yell each step of the fire safety technique as you all do it together and make sure the fire extinguisher is clearly visible at some point in your video.
#5: At some point throughout the hunt, take a picture of the Lacoste display window, and the display windows of two stores that you would consider competitors. Then anywhere around the mall find a shopper who is wearing a collared shirt of any kind. Then take a video as you ask them to compare the 3 display window pictures you’ve taken and have them tell you which one has the most impact on them as a shopper and why.
#6: Get to any side by side escalators where the up and down sides are directly adjacent to each other (as seen HERE). Then take a video of your team all travelling together the entire length of the up or down side while getting all of the shoppers going the opposite direction to either fist bump, elbow bump, or high five everyone on your team. To complete this challenge successfully every single person going the opposite direction has to make contact with everyone on your team in some way (so let’s see how good of sales people you are with a short amount of time to convince them). And just to make it a little more challenging you have to attempt this when at least 3 total people pass by in the opposite direction, so that you can’t just do the challenge when no one is coming the other way. If not everyone makes contact with your team, loop back around and try again.
#7: Get your team to the large square Koi Pond here inside the mall. Once there take a video of each team member tossing a separate coin and getting it to land somewhere on the rock island in the middle of the Koi Pond, where the metal sculpture is located. Click HERE to see an image of the pond and an example of where the coin should land.
#8: This is such a large mall there’s even an area that could be considered a small jungle, with three oversized gorillas, plenty of “rain”, and an abundance of natural tree cover. Get to the location shown HERE and take a picture of your entire team all completing any variation of the "Tree Pose" next to one of the skinny “trees” shown in the middle of the picture. You’ll need to take your picture quickly or you might not make it out of the jungle before a downpour soaks your whole team. To view a picture of someone properly performing a variation of the Tree Pose click HERE.
#9: This weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day, which was originally founded in 1908 by Anna Jarvis. To honor the great women everywhere that deserve our praise take a video of your team members hugging or high-fiving any female who is with a double stroller (two kids in one stroller) as you give her words of encouragement such as "we believe in you", "you're awesome", "you're doing a great job", etc. Make sure your video shows the stroller at some point, although the children don’t need to be recorded.
#10: Get to any clothing or apparel store and find two different items with enough in stock that every team member can be wearing the same two items in their own sizes. Then take a fun team picture with everyone wearing those items. For example it may be a wacky shirt, and a pair of shorts. Or maybe some cozy slippers and a large sun hat. As long as everyone is wearing the same exact two items but in their own sizes.
#11: Get every team member a large (16 ounces or so) open-top paper, plastic, or foam cup and fill it with water. Then somewhere outdoors line up shoulder to shoulder and balance a full cup on each team member’s head. Once everyone’s cups are balanced, hold hands with the team members on either side of you and take a video of your team working together to all take 10 steps forward without anyone touching their cup or having it spill. If someone’s cup spills make sure to encourage them and then refill any spilled cups and start again as a team. After your team successfully travels 10 steps together dump the cups to prove they were full, and then celebrate!
#12: Throughout the hunt search for the most expensive single item you can find, that is NOT a vehicle, or part of a display. This item must be a physical and tangible item located inside of a retail location and able to be purchased today (so something like Tesla solar panels wouldn’t qualify because they are not physically in the retail store). Once you find what you believe is the most expensive item in the mall take a team picture with the price of the item. The team that ends up with the most expensive item will be the only team that receives a point for this challenge. As you are interacting with retail staff for this challenge take note of how they greet you at the door, how they interact with you once you describe what you’re looking for, and what type of actions or behavior made them effective/ineffective in helping you achieve your objectives. Feel free to document these observations along the way through a video or series of videos.
#13: Last week was National Pretzel Day (it’s true, look it up). Find any vendor around the mall that sells pretzels. Once there, combine your team members and any additional strangers (or another team) to create a group of at least 6 total people and an even number of participants. Once your group is formed, take a video completing the “Human Pretzel Challenge” next to the pretzel vendor. To watch a video about how to complete the Human Pretzel (or Human Knot) Challenge click HERE. To improve your chances of success, don’t grab the hands of either person right next to you and make sure you have the hands of two different people.
#14: Somewhere around the mall find the logo shown HERE. Once you’ve found it take a fun team picture posing with the logo in a way that best represents the business this logo is for. For example, if this logo was for Happy Furniture then take a “happy” picture.
#15: Get your team to the insta-worthy sign seen HERE. Once there, find someone to take a memorable team picture of your group while you all pretend “the floor is lava” and you’re up off of the white base, and have your bodies positioned somewhere on/in/under the brightly colored lettering. Then after the event email the picture to us at HQ@TeamBuildingAnywhere.com, along with your office mailing address, and we’ll turn it into an awesome postcard and drop it in the mail so that you have a fun way to remember your adventure!
